WHAT IS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

AI is developed by studying how human brain works and how brains think, learn how they perform decision making while solving a problem and then using the outcome of these studies as a basis for software development.

The three main stages of AI

Stage one (machine learning) - It consist of intelligent systems using algorithms to learn from previous experience

Stage two (machine intelligence) - In this stage, machines learn from previous experience based on wrong algorithms it is more efficient and evolved way of machine learning.

Stage three(machine consciousness) - This is the stage in which self learning from experience without any external data SIRI can be considered as one of the examples of machine consciousness.

APPLICATIONS OF AI

The applications for AI are innumerable, just think all that a machine brain could do working 24 hours thinking to the extent we want it to and always knowing what’s best solution for the problem I know sounds like sci-fi movies right? Well let’s just get into the uses we are currently using AI for.

· Gaming:- AI plays a very important role n games based more on strategy like chess, poker, tic-tac-toe etc. also nowadays AI is being used in almost all the games such as shooting games. AI helps to make the bots of the games more unpredictable and therefore improving the overall gameplay and user experience.

· Natural language processing:- this is also one of the most important uses as a computer that is not needed to provide input in the traditional way of using mouse and keyboard or pressing keys but just by talking to it. Sounds awesome right? Just think about having a real life JARVIS like iron man.

· Speech recognition:- some software programs are able to hear tasks given by humans and comprehend their meanings and perform the tasks. For instance you could consider SIRI by apple Google Assistant by Google or even Alexa by amazon. Though all these have improved to a very great extent yet there is a lot to be improved in terms of natural talks.

· Robots:- until a few years back robots could do only a same motion or work they were made for but now due to advancements in AI they can now have various other functionalities like sensors for detecting physical form of information like physical state, light, sound ,movement, pressure etc. walking robots that can now balance on their own and can even spot and avoid obstacles while walking running or interacting with the physical world are now made in the world.

· Vision systems:- these software process the visual input given to them and then interpret and process it. Though it may not seem like it could do much yet it is very helpful. For example facial recognition programs used by Police departments. Or clinical expert systems used by doctors to diagnose patients.

Facebook was working on developing chatbots using AI. They decided to task the robots to carry out a trade. So they assigned two robots to talk to each other but to their surprise after a while the chatbots developed another form of english language that only two of them could understand. It is supposed that they made changes to the language for their own better understanding yet the program was immediately shut down.

Though all these might seem irrelevant to you and me but the bots even completed some of the trades using the same language which suggests that the language could be perfectly understood by the two of them.

Elon musk the popular name associated with tesla says that if we were to continue developing AI programs then there is nothing that can make sure they won’t develop a consciousness and try to kill us all. Whereas mark zuckerberg has been a supporter of AI creation from the very beginning.
